Delta Scientific DSC550 Shallow Foundation Barricade
The Delta DSC550 open frame barricade marks the latest accomplishment from Delta Scientific Corporation. The DSC550’s shallow 24” foundation is ideal for applications where underground utilities, buried pipes, and other obstructions may present a challenge. The open frame format provides a unique counter-balance design with no springs or other mechanical assists that need extra maintenance. The shallow foundation also reduces installation complexity, time, materials, and corresponding costs.
Crash tested to the newest, more stringent ASTM F2656-20 M50/P1 standard, the DSC550 achieved a P1 rating with negative penetration. The barrier is a bit stronger at the 16-foot length, producing a negative 1.1 foot level of penetration compared to a negative 0.36 foot penetration level from the 10-foot version. With an EFO speed of 1.5 seconds for the electro-mechanical version and .75 seconds for the hydraulic version, you can be assured that the DSC550 will perform under a high duress situation.
